The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy's mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends, with the vision of a world where the diversity of life thrives, and people act to conserve nature for its own sake and its ability to fulfill our needs and enrich our lives. Nature Matters worked with the Volunteer and Events Coordinator of Indiana’s TNC Chapter to create this Volunteer t-shirt worn across the state. Each of the four showcased animals were watercolor painted specially for the shirt, and celebrate four native and threatened species found in different ecosystems. The double-crested cormorant highlights our state’s coastline ecosystem of Lake Michigan, while the endangered Indiana bat calls our caves it’s home. The mighty bison symbolizes the prairies of northwestern Indiana as the ornate box turtle represents the shaded hardwood forests that used to carpet our state.
